Let me say, this polish was fantastic. I seriously had it on for almost 2 weeks with only minor tip wear.
The balls… oh the balls! I didn’t put on enough polish on the sides of my nail so they fell off in an hour, leaving a ball stripe down the center. You really need to load your nail with wet polish and work quickly sprinkling (over a bowl) and pushing them into the polish, arranging them a bit better as you go.
I had to remove 4 keys from my laptop keyboard since they got underneath and I couldn’t type. I eventually picked them all off, leaving a neat rough coral pattern on my nail. Ha!
Try something different and send me a pic!I’ll include it in a future blog post!
I tried one with painted bunnies and grass and well… it looked like crap. It also got ruined that same night. So here’s a simple skittle and stamped argyle pattern. My thumbs are orange.
I guess this was my blue period for manis this past week.
pop Beauty Aquatic Glitz – my first holo glitter (with flash) – about 4 coats
no flash – it’s soooo sparkly!
This was my b-day mani to see The Hunger Games. I was thinking Mockingjay on fire? It was a mess but fun! Most of the gems fell off in my sleep so I finally bought some real glue instead of just using polish to secure.
Carly gave me this deep periwinkle blue – OPI’s I Don’t Give a Rotterdam from their Holland collection. I LOVE IT!
I finally used those paper hole reinforcement labels! It was really easy but I had a hard time getting the fine points on the sides. What to do when you screw one up? Put some glitter or pearls on it! :D
Make sure your nails are completely dry before you use these!
We had lobster tails for dinner last night (5 minutes in the rice cooker = perfect) and David called this one my Zoidberg mani.
I think it’s more orange than lobster but whatever.
I used Zoya Jancyn as the base and dotted with another Hunger Games polish, China Glaze Riveting.
I love using the dotting tool. Doing your opposite hand is a real pain but if you have the patience, the results are fun. Just pour some polish on a bit of foil and go to town.
I also forgot that I had this Zoya polish when I ordered the pop beauty Tangerine color. I did that on my toes. It’s a bit lighter and more pastel but not worth having both.
Do you match your nails to your outfits or your outfits to your nails?
Up until last week, I don’t think of coordinating unless it’s for a special occasion. I usually just want to try a new polish I got.
With the new emerald stone, I wanted to show it off and not clash.
First mani was silver. This is Zoya Trixie. I got it when Zoya was doing their annual 2 free bottles offer. I added some extra glitter to the ring finger but you can’t really see it.
The latest is CQ Mint Green with some green glitter on the ring finger.
This is 3 days into it and my nails are getting long! I have to thank the base coat I’ve been wearing lately. Most of the time I’m not in the mood for that step but I was getting sick of manis not lasting more than a day.
I’ve been really bad lately about buying lots of nail polish but not actually doing my nails.
I did manage to squeeze 2 in in the past few weeks of feeling like grim death (this is the cold that will not go away).
This plum color is some brand called Pro 10 that I can only find at CVS. It’s super cheap and the racks have been 75% off. I think they’re getting rid of it. I can see why. It took 4 thin coats to get it even but this lasted an entire week before looking really bad. I stamped with an old bottle (like over 10 years old) of L’Oreal antique gold. Ulti approved.
Sorry for the bad pic. I hadn’t had my coffee yet. This is 3 coats of Revlon Blue Lagoon and 1 coat of LA Girl Glitter Addict in Nostalgic (can be found at Rite Aids). The teal glitter isn’t showing up in the pic but it’s pretty rad.
I slipped a few normal manicures in between the Christmas ones. It was all getting to be a bit much. Now I’m all caught up.
This is Orly Pink Chocolate with some pink Sally Girl glitter on top. The teeny bottle of Sally glitter is pretty much the same as Essie Luxeffects pink glitter in A Cut Above.
This is a perfect deep rose for any occasion where you can’t go too crazy.
All my nails went to hell and had to be chopped. This is either white fishnet over pewter or a sparkly snake.
I’m a snaaaaaaake!
And this is the China Glaze Trendsetter with the dark brown Julep tiger stamp.
3 days later and it still looks great!
No plans for NYE so, I probably won’t do a big glitter explosion.
I grabbed a mini bottle of China Glaze Ruby Pumps for $2 at Sally last week and added a green accent nail with some glitter. An accent in gold or silver would be sweet too!
November was so warm. I’m actually looking forward to some snow!
And yes, I’m losing my mind…
That deer stamp just wouldn’t work. I bet I tried 20 times until I got it all on the stamper. Then I went to bed and realized I hadn’t put snow on my trees and got back up and added it. Losing it, I tell ya!
