  • Thanksgiving is OVER! We all made it out alive and now it’s time for Christmas!

  • The after Christmas clearance sales are where I get ALL my wrapping paper, bows, bags, decorations for the tree and house, dinnerware (lots of stuff you can use year round), and any other random thing that’s marked down to 90% off. I love getting my boxes out to decorate and finding all the things I got last year that I had forgotten about. It’s like an early Christmas! Check out this awesome ceramic platter I got for $1 last year!

  • Kelly from Let’s Die Friends made it to Design Sponge!! So stoked! Her dining area looks awesome!
  • Design Sponge also updated my town’s guide! Pretty nifty! The 1st pic – that church is right behind my apartment!
  • Did you go out for Black Friday? I usually have no intention to but I needed to pick up a few things and popped into Bath and Body Works since I had a coupon. I cleaned up on random gifts for lady folk. It was a madhouse but everyone was cheerful. There really don’t seem to be many amazing deals out there. 15% off is NOT a Black Friday sale people!
  • I did my minimal decorating for Christmas on Friday night. I slapped the same big bow on our front door, did up the mantle in the bedroom with my bf’s 12 Days of Christmas presents….

and we had to put the tree on the radiator in the hallway where Ulti can’t get to it (and anchor it to the wall with fishing line and a Command strip hook just in case). I can’t even plug it in this year!

I’ve been slowly working on a woodland creature ornament collection.

  • not gonna complain! I’m in a super fantastic mood!

Aw! I love all your decorations. I’m SO not a holiday decorator. I don’t even put up a tree in my apartment.

My mom used to put something for Christmas in every damn nook and cranny in the house. I can’t live like that. Hallway and mantle is it for me. I’m surprised you haven’t put something on your front door!

You and I are cut from the same cloth with the after-Christmas sales for wrap, bows, decorations, etc! I usually hit K-Mart, WalMart, and Target. I’ve landed some pretty awesome deals!

Yes! WalMart and Target for sure! I haven’t been to KMart in soooo long. I should hit theirs up this year!

I HEART your mantle!!!!! I also heart the SNL “I wish it was Christmas today” song. Tracy Morgan’s face is effing hilarious.

Your decorations are fabulous!

I think less is more when it comes to holiday decorating too.

I’m just starting to decorate and have NOTHING at all. I don’t have ornaments, plates, any collection of Christmas goodies whatsoever. I’m still hoping to be “home” for the holidays, but also want my new home to be all warm and holiday-y.

LOVE the white tree. We haven’t set one up yet and I’m slightly terrified about how the cats are going to react to it. I’m thinking we’ll need to set it up first without decorations, just to see how they take to it and be sure it’s stable. I have a feeling they’re going to go crazy the moment they see a tree come in the house….

omg… I can’t even imagine the two of them attacking the tree.
I was terrified Ulti was going to ruin my bedroom mantle since he went on a bender 2 weeks ago and broke two things on it but he’s been really good about everything!
Good luck!

Ohmygoodness, I am just catching up on my reader from before Thanksgiving and saw you linked me. Thanks babygurl :D I love seeing your 12 days of xmas bags in action. Also, I bought pretty much that same tree for this year since I am scared to get a real one with Zoey while she’s still a little. If I have time (or rather, if I feel like putting in effort), I’d like to make some cute felt ornaments for it.

I was thinking about making some too… or a garland… never made a damn thing I pinned for Christmas!
