Labor Day weekend

How did you spend your Labor Day weekend?

Every year, my dad goes to a giant antique show in Hillsville, VA so I have to stay at my parents’ overnight Thursday & Friday. He comes back Saturday afternoon.

This weekend however, my parents still didn’t have power from Hurricane Irene. I had to hold down the fort with the generators, going to get gas and being bored out of my mind. Good times.

I finally got back home around 5:30 on Saturday and showered, cleaned the apartment like a maniac, ran some errands and watched an all day marathon of Real Housewives of New Jersey on Sunday.

The bf was visiting friends and family in Maryland and NoVa and didn’t get back until midnight Sunday. I was half asleep and the tornado hit the house. Dropping and spilling Korean food brought back from his mom, a garlic fiesta . It was a shock to my system after being quiet for days but I was super glad to have him back home.

He had gone to this giant Asian market and brought back some treats!

pic bf took at the market

Dragon Fruit! Tastes and feels a lot like kiwi. So pretty!

Beef stock mix in a zip pack. He got it for the bunny. He knows me so well.

My fave! A tub of mango jelly cups!

It’s now Monday afternoon. We both are camped out on the sofa doing a bunch of nothing and it feels great!

Hope you managed to have some fun!

Glad to see you safe and sound. Nothing makes things a bit better than reality TV! What is the top picture? Also Dragon Fruit? They look like tiny pink grenades. Hahah

I spent most of today holding down the sofa also.

I am intrigued by this dragon fruit. Do you eat it the same way as a kiwi also?

We just scooped it out with a spoon. I’ve seen it cubed on top of salads. It’s full of Vit C and antioxidants.
