Seeing Ulti all cuddled up with your big cat (whose name escapes me) makes me want to get Stella a friend sooooooo bad, especially since I’m on my first trip in the new apartment and she totally knew I was going to be gone and was super cuddly & needy & whiney all morning yesterday. She neeeeeeeeds a friend! So she won’t be lonely! I’ve seriously been having a mental battle about it for weeks now.

Have you thought about getting another cat around the same age as Stella that the SPCA knows is good w/ other cats? That way you don’t have to deal w/ kitten crazies and Stella won’t be traumatized. Nibbles (my grey cat at my parents’ house) hates Ulti. The fat cat Ringo (above) is learning to get along w/ him.
I’ve thought about doing that, getting an older cat, but considering that Stella still gets the kitten crazies (particularly around 10pm…I call that the “witching hour”) I think she’d be able to handle a younger one. She tried to get along with my mom’s cat when she was first brought inside, but my mom’s cat was a major lazy snob, so she wasn’t down for Stella’s outbursts. I go back & forth on the issue, but the fundage isn’t there right now to do any adoptions, so we’ll see how the baby cat gets on alone. When I first brought her up to Minneapolis, I lived alone and so she’d be by herself while I was on trips, but I think she got used to having the roommates around the last two years.
