After we went to the river a couple weeks ago, I got a bit of color on my face and a whole new crop of freckles.
This was last Monday? It was hot as hell last week (this week has been worse) and I’ve had no patience to do my makeup – no concealer, foundation, powder, shadow or eyebrow stuff. Just black eyeliner, mascara and red lips!

Home, after hauling a bunch of junk upstairs and sweaty. Oops sorry! Southern women don’t sweat. They glisten.
My bangs are blunt cut again but I just couldn’t deal. My hair had been in a bun all day. (I just chopped off 4″ so it looks much neater now.)
I HATE pictures of myself. Like you have NO idea. I think I took about 30 before I settled on this. And I was a PMS-ing wreck.

Milani Infinite Liquid Eyeliner in Everlast I’ll say it again. From my cold dead hands will you take this eyeliner from me!
L’Oreal Extra-Intense Liquid Pencil Eyeliner in Black for smoking up the eyeliner a bit and on my lower lash line.
Bare Escentuals BUXOM mascara in Black
Revlon lipstick in Scarlet Velvet (discontinued but you can still find it online). I pat it on for a matte effect that lasts. A cheapo alternative is Wet n’ Wild Wild Shine Lip Lacquer in 928 Fierce. I grabbed it for $3 just to check it out. It’s a classic blue/red and I really like it!
Oh! And oil blotting sheets!

Oh geez, you look great! Wish I could look like that without foundation! I hate pictures of me too. They never ever look like what I see in the mirror.
Thanks and yeah, aren’t pictures bizarre the way they warp your own perception of yourself? I’m like, “I don’t really look like that, do I?”
You are so right! The Milani Infinite Liquid Eyeliner is amazing! Goes on so smooth and does not streak or wear off. Definitely has helped me perfect my cateye liner look :)
It’s the best! My tubes dry up pretty fast but it’s cheap and easy to find so I don’t mind replacing it about once a month or so.
Awww, you’re absolutely GORGEOUS! What lovely products! My summer make-up routine is fairly simple; I like a swish of eyeliner, a heap of mascara and a quick dusting of a nice mineral foundation :)
