If you follow me on Twitter, you’ve seen some sneak preview kitten pics.
Yesterday, at 4pm, I was home with our new addition. The kittens belonged to a friend of a friend who had gotten a cat from another friend and didn’t know she was pregnant. Kittens! We had seen pics on FB and made arrangements thinking I would be getting one paricular kitten but another stole my heart. You gotta go with your gut on these things.
We already had a name planned…. wait for it….
The Ultimate Warrior. Seriously. Ulti for short.
He’s a dream kitty and I’m already in love with him. His markings are apparently “classic tabby” with spots on his tummy.
He slept nicely with us in the bed last night and first thing this morning, we took him to the vet to get his first checkup. He tested negative for all the bad kitten things, got dewormed to be on the safe side, got the first round of shots and a flea treatment. The vet said she could hear a small heart murmur that will most likely go away in a few months, but he can’t get fixed until then because of the anesthesia. Oh, and he’s 7-8 weeks old.

Oh god, I’m so jealous! That kitten is ridiculous cute! I’m finally moving into a new apartment all of my own and I keep having the bad idea/good idea of getting Stella a friend to keep her company when I’m gone for long periods of time. But the arguments for “bad idea” keep outweighing the reasoning behind “good idea” so I think Stella will stay an only kitty for a while more. But you new kitten makes me want one sooooooo baaaaaaad!
Of course, I think it’s a great idea! :) I would only get one when you know you’ll be home for a few days to get them to the vet and make sure they’re settled in. I’ve been really surprised at how nice Ringo has been. He wanted nothing to do with Kyra but he actually seems kinda interested in this lil boy!
