101 things about me

I’ve been seeing a lot of these self-indulgent lists floating around again so, here’s one about me! This took forever.

• If I could listen to one album for the rest of my life it would be Pearl Jam’s Ten.
• I really want to go skydiving and ride in a hot air balloon, but not bungee jumping.
• I wear contacts.
• I get absorbed in mindless games like Zuma/Bejeweled Blitz on Facebook.
• For the most part, I hate men’s dress shoes. I think a pair of clean Chucks look better on a man than anything, any time.
• I have a lead foot.
• Between chronic vit D deficiency, high cholesterol and anxiety, I’m sick of taking pills.
• I know the plot lines of every Seinfeld episode and still reference it regularly (in my head at least).
• I have no idea what I want to be when I grow up.
• I’m 1/2 Serbian and 1/8 each English, Irish, German & Swedish
• I have brown eyes, natural brown hair (dyed blue black) and freckles.
• I despise fur and animal cruelty yet I can’t manage to become a vegetarian.
• Blue cheese is my favorite cheese.
• I don’t drink wine (well, rarely) or whiskey in any form.
• I always vote Independent.
• For the most part, I think cats and dogs are cuter than babies.
• If I ever did have a baby, I like Eliot, Kyogi, and Betty as names.
• I don’t have a middle name.
• My favorite books are East of Eden by Steinbeck and The Second Sex by Simone de Beauvoir.
• Every year until high school, I got awarded for “Most Conscientious Student” and marked for excessive talking on my report card.
• I have vivid lucid dreams all the time, remember them and go back to the dream places another night, picking up where I left off sometimes.
• So many people have said they found me intimidating at first. I am crazy friendly so I don’t understand that.
• I have no idea what being 32 years old is supposed to look like.
• Born and raised in Richmond, VA.
• I have barely traveled and I’m dying to.
• My first vacation destination would be Puerto Rico.
• I’m an only child.
• My parents took me with them everywhere and I only had a baby sitter once.
• My mom always wanted me to take riding lessons. I road on a pony one time at the fair and was horrified and had a panic attack.
• I love going to the firing range.
• I love dressing up in animal costumes – not all furry lovin’ style – but there’s something liberating about being in a big animal suit and anonymous face-paint at Halloween. I turn into a climbing, jumping, free wheelin’, exploding with happiness, maniac.
• My bf told me to add that I raise good cats.
• Oh, and that I’m kind. He said that about 3 times.
• I can also be a stone cold heartless bitch if someone tries to screw me over.
• I listen to conservative talk radio during the day and watch CNN and MSNBC at night. I love hearing all sides.
• I think for myself.
• Living with this man for almost two years has taught me more about myself than I ever thought possible.
• I want to elope.
• Rachael Ray and Jillian Michaels make me cringe. They offend my delicate Southern sensibilities.
• Yes. Steel Magnolias and Fried Green Tomatoes.
• I am a huge computer geek and have been online since 1996.
• Even though I’m 5’1″, I don’t feel short.
• I have a degree in psychology that I don’t think I’ll ever use, although I probably use it every day.
• It took me over 10 years going part time to get that damn degree.
• I did all the prerequisites for nursing school, went through the the mess and got accepted, got all my shots, ordered all my books and supplies, then quit after the first day. Not for me.
• I have 2 tattoos. Peonies on my upper back and a pinup girl on my stomach. Some days I want them added to, some days I want them gone.
• In 2.5 years, I have not once farted in front of my bf and I never intend to.
• I have owned 3 Saturns – totaled 2 of them.
• I used to be obsessed with astrology but now think it’s a crock. I’m an Aries, Libra Ascendent, Aquarius Moon, Venus in Aquarius, Mars in Pisces.
• I can’t swim very well but I’m happiest at the ocean.
• The only sports I watch are the Olympics.
• The Pika is my favorite wild animal.

• I love trespassing at night in the summertime.
• I hate camping.
• My favorite candy bar is a Whatchamacallit.
• I hate Wintergreen flavored mint. That and licorice make me gag.
• I’ve never had a dishwasher.
• I’ve only had cable TV in the past 2 years.
• I used to have my tongue, both nipples twice each and down there pierced.
• I broke my foot when I was 12, leaping off a flight of stairs.
• I will never get wisdom teeth.
• I can draw photo-realistically from a picture.
• Mechanical pencils are my favorite writing tool.
• I love spicy food- the hotter the better.
• I grew up on construction sites.
• Spring is my favorite season.
• Listening to Casey Kasem’s American Top 40 and drawing at my dad’s drafting table is where you could find me on Saturday mornings as a kid.
• A bag of Doritos and a golf game on TV and I was set on a rainy Sunday as a kid.
• I would love to learn to be a car mechanic.
• I posed nude for a local magazine once- well it was just my butt.
• I’m constantly compelled to shave my head.
• I don’t believe in god but I do believe in infinite possibilities.
• I went to private Southern Baptist school for 9 years (for the education) and was the only kid who didn’t go to church, until my bff Jen showed up in 8th grade.
• I went to an “alternative” high school for artsy fartsy kids and graduated in ’97.
• I was married for 11 months in ’98.
• I have about a dozen different handwriting styles. I never know what it will look like until I start.
• The blog that inspired me the most to start my own (and use WordPress) was Kris Atomic‘s 2.5 years ago.
• I’m a rabid perfectionist but get burned out easily.
• Tiramisu is my favorite dessert.
• I looooove Family Guy and South Park.
• I wish Flight of the Conchords and The Marvelous Misadventures of Flapjack hadn’t been cancelled
• Prank phone calls crack me the hell up.
• Yellow jackets scare the hell out of me.
• I’ve known my bffs Angie for 24 years and Jen for 20.
• I’ve been with my bf longer than any other relationship (2.5 years now).
• I like my eggs scrambled with cheese.
• My alter ego’s name is Lola.
• The most embarrassing fashion phase of my life was candy raver.
• I destroyed years of journals in a fit of rage after having my privacy violated.
• At one point years ago, I had dozens of pen pals and still hear from them once in a blue moon.
• I spent a good portion of my teens grounded.
• If it’s broken, I will figure out a way to fix it.
• Reaching the age where I see fashion I wore as a teen come back in style is hilarious/horrifying to me.
• Everything is a song or noise around here. It’s how I communicate.
• I am the only cool head in my family during a crisis.
• I bullied one girl in middle school and I don’t regret it.
• I had a pretty decent (if not a bit fearful) relationship with my father until I hit puberty. We hated one another for 10 years, and now we get along great.
• I didn’t start eating cereal until I was an adult.
• I adore old episodes of The Golden Girls, Roseanne, and the BBC’s Keeping Up Appearances.
• I love meeting new people and will pretty much talk to anyone without pretense.
• Things remind me of people constantly so I love Twitter for the ease of sharing gems with others.
