I don’t know how I’ve survived without it!
So I’ve been reading a ton of makeup blogs lately (my favorite is xSparkage) hence all the talk about cosmetics lately.
I love being able to see swatches of the colors, video tutorials and reviews of new products. I’ve also been inspired by all the daring colorful eye makeup.
I finally got the NYX eyeshadow base in white in the mail yesterday. Every beauty blogger I’ve read swears by either that or the jumbo eye pencil in milk used as a primer (if you prefer pencils to pots).
It’s not like clown makeup where your lids will be pure white. When you apply it, it simply lightens the lid a bit and prepares it for shadow. (There’s also a pearl white and a peach color.) The purpose for using a white primer is that it makes the true color of your shadow pop (even cheap poorly pigmented shadow), in addition to preventing creasing, and making it last through the day.
Let me tell you… IT WILL LAST!
I have a bad habit of sleeping in my eye makeup. I like waking up in the morning and looking done. It’s pure vanity. I wash my face and apply night cream everywhere else before bed but leave the eyes alone. (It hasn’t effected my skin at all as far as blemishes.) A few times a week I scrub it all off and start fresh.
You know those ladies who won’t let their men see them without a full face of makeup and wake up 2 hours early every day to apply it? Well, I’m not that bad but, they obviously haven’t been using eye primer or my fave liquid eyeliner.
I went to bed with my eyes done for the first time with primer and woke up like I had just applied it! Okay, there was a tiny bit of creasing that I just rubbed away but all in all, everything else was perfect.
So yeah, this stuff is amazing!

i will try this! i have greasy eyelids (gross, i know), and i HAVE to wear eyeshadow or i look reptilian. a LOT of eye primers are crap. i have tried so many. right now i use the one from urban decay, and it works very well. but i will try this one and see if it is better (or cheaper? wouldn’t that be nice).

I have greasy lids too! especially in summer. That one from Urban Decay is supposed to be wonderful! If it ain’t broke don’t fix it! Cherry Culture has 50% off sales on NYX products all the time so, it would be worth grabbing it then and giving it a go.
