In 1998, I had to have a pair of GAP cargo khakis. You know which ones I’m talking about. They had a wider leg and were all the rage. I wouldn’t be caught dead in them now (well maybe rolled at the ankle to do yard work). I don’t like über trendy things. Okay, I say that but I’ve been wearing skinny jeans for years (even have a pair of jeggings) and I love peep-toe boots. I guess what I’m saying is those things have stuck around for quite some time but I still feel stylish.
I finally caved and got a pair of ankle-zip cargo skinnies at Old Navy. The price was right ($14 on clearance) to give them a shot and omg, why didn’t I get a pair of these sooner?! They fit like a dream and are soooo comfy!

I got this grey pair. They’re better for short people unless you want a cropped look, and cheaper at the store than online at the moment.
Am I coming in at the tail end of this trend? Are they going to last through next summer? Honestly, I couldn’t give a damn. The military look always seems to be in, in one way or another. The punky goth in me knows they’ll always be bitchin’ but who knows. At least at $14, I won’t feel like a sucker for spending $230 on a pair of JBrand Houlihans.

I keep getting tempted by this trend, I even bought a pair from LOFT before ultimately returning them. I don’t know. Maybe it’s because I’m tall, I can’t find a cheap pair that’s long enough, which would relegate them to only being worn tucked into boots. I want to see you in yours!

I sent you pics w/ my crappy camera phone to your last post. They’re just the right length on me if I wanted to wear heels or sneakers, with some shrinking wiggle room. I’m 5’1″ about 130lbs and fit in a size 4 perfectly. (I love Old Navy’s vanity sizing!) I’ve had them on all day and there has been no butt stretching/sagging! Yay!
If you find some on sale that fit, I say give em a go!
They are so cute on you. But I’m 5’9″ and I just know they will be dumb on me. I will just admire them on you!
