first snow

The first snow just hit Richmond, VA. I walked around my parents’ yard and took some pictures. They have 3 small ponds and my dad built the house after ski-lodge plans 35 years ago. I grew up here and come every day to take care of my mom and help with my dad’s company. It’s a little oasis in the city. When I was little, every time it snowed, I would pack a “survival kit”, bundle up, and walk along the creek (overflow from the ponds) in the ravine behind all the houses and end up at Mrs. Green’s deck on Falling Creek Reservoir. I’d sit out there and eat cheese and pretend I was an adventurer.

the creek starts in that left corner

the middle pond is a mess

So beautiful! My neighborhood isn’t nearly as picturesque but I sure have been enjoying the snow today! It makes everything seem just a little bit prettier.

it makes everything gorgeous… until it turns grey and dirty… I hate that part.

That looks heavenly…so relaxing and beautiful. You are lucky! It must also be beautiful in the summer. My mom just lives in a subdivision in the ‘burbs of Detroit! :)
