meet my rats!

On Saturday, after our 1 year anniversary picnic, we went rat hunting! I bought everything a rat could need at Petsmart but had called a few other pet stores in Richmond to compare their Dumbo rat selection. We drove to two other places and honestly, I was pretty disgusted with the conditions, the smell, the weak customer service, and the outrageous prices. Back to Petsmart to get the two original rats I had seen last week. I am now the proud mama of two 3-4 month old Dumbo rats!

First, there’s Barnaby. He’s the real snuggler of the two. He’s sweet, calm and cuddly. He’s blue grey with a white belly and paws. He’s perfectly content to be curled up on my shoulder. The second is Toki. They’re brothers but he’s a bit smaller with a blue hood and an exclamation point on his back!! He’s really active and never turns down a snack. We did have a zen moment though where he completely blissed out to my affection. I think he’ll calm down soon enough! Love!
