Oh Ann D., why!? WHY?
First she came out with the triple lace-up heeled boot. I hate this curved “talon” heel (so awkward) but love the laces. Adore the laces.

Then, I saw the flat version and was in love with the entire shoe… praying someone would rip off the design for cheap. As much as I hate a knockoff, I would’ve bought them.

I haven’t bought anything fabulous for myself in so long, I’m about to lose my mind. Yes, the stuff I have been buying in preparation for the new apartment is for ME, technically. I’m talking about girly stuff. Clothes. Shoes. Spoiling myself a bit. If I could blow what would probably be about $1000 on something frivolous and selfish it would be these shoes, without a doubt.
I don’t want to use the image without permission so click here to see shoe perfection. Sigh.
I don’t know where my head is today.
I think I would be more inclined to take showers rather than baths if I had one of these to spare my hair!

These Christian Louboutins are from the Fall 2008/2009 collection but I had never seen them until they recently appeared on Jak and Jil. The mid-calf height and supple leather quilting is soooo badass. Could that be a velcro fastener? I know, it’s Spring…

Spiders cause a visceral reaction in most people. My mother was bitten by a Brown Recluse when I was a child – which coincidently happened around the onset of her Multiple Sclerosis and we’ve always wondered if it triggered some whacked out auto-immune reaction. After the bite and recovery, spiders were destined to die when I was growing up. I still always found them to be enchanting and was proud for being the only one in my 3rd grade class brave enough to hold the tarantula on the science center field trip. My father once caught a wolf spider in a jar for me to watch, her back wriggling with babies. Every summer a giant garden spider maintains a perfect web outside the window next to my computer and I can watch for hours as she wraps up insects and feeds on them.
The boy thinks I’m a total freak for my love of taxidermy (I must have this winged kitten), and all of Laura Zindel’s ceramics.

This Swarovski crystal cuff is so much fun!

This silk tunic by Helmut Lang is subtle, with beautiful drape.

Why not adorn an odd spot in your home with a preserved Peruvian tarantula? :)

Maybe it’s the goth girl still lingering inside of me but, I think spiders are wonderful!
We finally found a place – on the most picture perfect little block in the city! I endured over a month of Craigslist hell to find this amazing deal that suits us perfectly! Kuba Kuba and the new tapas restaurant down the street are going to be nothing but trouble.
It’s your stereotypical Fan apartment, with the long hallway on the left and all the rooms on the right. The flooring in the bathroom and kitchen are going to get an overhaul with the help of my father but, the nice big rooms will make up for it until.
I made a master list about a month ago of all the things we would need to have a well-equipped home. I’ve slowly collected kitchen gadgets and everything I would need to comfortably cook. A dream would be to have a full set of Kafuh stoneware dishes.

Well, the list just keeps growing and growing. A claw foot tub means we need a bathtub caddy. Of course, you need to be fully stocked with an arsenal of cleaning supplies. I had to get another complete set of cat needs since I’m just taking one of the kittehs with me. Closet space is going to be our worst enemy though. Seriously. I’m already researching garment racks and shoe cubbies, and hanging rods. Then, when you start digging around online, you see things you really don’t need but absolutely must have.
