Lanvin’s Spring 2009RTW collection featured nude pointed toe pumps throughout… a refreshing departure from the dark heavy shoes we’re getting inundated with this winter.
Not only were they paired with short dresses but also with black skinnies, which I am really digging.

I really had to dig to find a nice selection of nude pumps that are available this season. Most are glossy patent (nothing wrong with that). Also, I think if you’re really trying to match a shoe to your skin tone, online shopping may not be the best idea, but a lot of the stores are offering free return shipping.
Here are my picks for this always popular spring trend, in a wide range of price points, without resorting to super-cheap stiff alternatives. (Oh, and this truly is one of the most economical shoes on the planet. What won’t they go with?)

BCBG Max Azria – Daja with a tiny hidden platform and round toe, for those who can’t stand the points.
Theory – Mariel for those who want to air out their toes

GUESS – Carrie (I tried to find all skin tones, which unfortunately was a lot more difficult than I thought would be.)

Guiseppe Zanotti (love the detailed heel)

So, am I crazy for thinking about bare legs and nude pumps at the start of December?
